Volunteer Musicians in a University Medical Center

Healing Through Music at OHSU invites volunteer musicians to share gentle, live music that brings comfort and connection to patients, families, and healthcare staff at OHSU Hospital and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

Musicians perform in public spaces like lobbies and waiting areas, offering calm acoustic or instrumental music in a low‑pressure, flexible setting. Performances range from 45–120 minutes, with scheduling that works around your availability. If you play acoustic guitar, piano/keyboard, strings, or similar instruments and want to use your talent to give back, we’d love to connect.

Do you play an instrument? Love creating calm, uplifting moments through music? OHSU Visitors and Volunteers (OVV) is inviting musicians across our community to help bring comfort, connection, and joy to our healthcare spaces through our Healing Through Music program.

We’re seeking musicians who can offer gentle, ambient music in various public spaces across OHSU’s campus, including the South Waterfront and our new Vista Pavilion.

Whether you’re a seasoned performer or someone who simply loves to play, your presence can make a meaningful difference.
