    About Pixel Pulse

    Pixel Pulse is a youth-led organization dedicated to empowering students to explore STEM through accessible resources, creative projects, and community-driven opportunities. We believe every young person deserves the chance to discover their potential in science, technology, engineering, and math, no matter their background.

    Role Overview

    We’re looking for a creative and detail-oriented Newsletter Writer to help craft our monthly Pixel Pulse newsletter. This volunteer will play a key role in sharing STEM opportunities, organizational updates, student spotlights, and engaging content with our growing community.

    Newsletter Writing

    • Write and edit a monthly/weekly newsletter, including:
      • STEM opportunities, programs, and events
      • Pixel Pulse updates and initiatives
      • Youth spotlights or interviews
      • Curated STEM resources or news summaries

    Editorial & Advocacy Writing

    • Draft short Letters to the Editor on:
      • STEM education access and equity
      • Youth involvement in technology
      • Highlighting community issues or STEM-related news stories
    • Work with the leadership team to select relevant topics and ensure factual accuracy
    • Edit and refine LTEs for clarity, tone, and impact
    • Submit pieces to appropriate publications or assist the team in doing so

    General

    • Communicate with the Comms/Leadership team to align content with Pixel Pulse’s mission
    • Meet weekly deadlines and be open to feedback

    Qualifications

    • Strong writing and editing skills
    • Interest in STEM education, youth advocacy, or science communication
    • Ability to convey ideas clearly and persuasively
    • Reliable and self-motivated
