Fairfield PAL Launches new teen bowling league “Fairfield PAL Lanes” Volunteers Needed

The Fairfield Police Activities League (PAL) Teen Center is excited to announce the launch of Fairfield PAL Lanes, a brand-new bowling league designed to bring high-energy fun, mentorship, and creative programming to local teens. Fairfield PAL is now recruiting volunteers to help make this program a standout experience.

Since 2009, Fairfield PAL has provided a safe, supportive place where teens build friendships, explore new interests, and gain the confidence and leadership skills they need to thrive. PAL’s mission is rooted in connection—pairing positive activities with caring adult volunteer mentors who help teens feel seen, valued, and capable.

Volunteers make that impact possible. Every hour shared by a volunteer expands what PAL can offer—more activities, more support, more encouragement, and more life-changing moments for Fairfield, Suisun and Travis teens.

Introducing Fairfield PAL Lanes

Bowling is the perfect addition to the teen center: active, social, beginner-friendly, and inherently fun. It builds teamwork, confidence, healthy competition, and positive peer relationships.

But the Fairfield PAL Lanes version will be uniquely ours. This league will feature:

• • Glow-in-the-Dark PAL Lanes Nights with neon lanes, music, and themed nights
  • Creative Weekly Challenges like backwards bowling, trick-shot rounds, and “Beat the Coach” mini-contests
  • Skill-Building Workshops that teach grip and form while sneaking in STEM—using bowling to explore force, angles, speed, and the science behind every strike.
  • Themed Special Events such as costume nights, scoreboard shoutouts, and friendly team rivalries

Fairfield PAL Lanes blends everything great about bowling with PAL’s signature creativity, youth leadership focus, and high-energy teen center atmosphere.

Volunteers Needed to Make It Happen

Fairfield PAL is seeking volunteers (ages 16+) to support the Fairfield PAL Lanes program. No bowling experience is required, just enthusiasm, patience, and a desire to support local teens.

Volunteer roles include:

• • Bowling Mentors/Coaches – Teach basic skills, support practice time, and encourage positive sportsmanship.
  • Lane Leaders – Help organize teams, guide gameplay, track scoring, and maintain safety and fun.
  • Special Event Assistants – Support glow nights, theme nights, and creative contests.
  • Scorekeepers & Tech Helpers – Assist with brackets, tracking points, scoring sheets, and lane setup.

Research shows people volunteer when they feel they can make a difference, connect with others, build skills, and contribute to their community. Fairfield PAL Lanes offers all of that—plus the joy of helping teens learn something new while having a blast.

How to Become a Volunteer with Fairfield PAL

As a youth servicing organization, Fairfield PAL is obligated to follow Assembly Bill 506, which includes:

• • Completion of the Mandated Reporter Training Certificate
  • A Department of Justice background check, as required by AB 506

Background costs are covered by the program. Volunteers are needed Monday through Thursday between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
