    Meal Server - Dinner

Volunteering to serve a meal at a shelter is a popular way to help. Meal service is open to both individuals and groups. Volunteer shifts are 4:30pm-6:30 7-days a week and can accommodate volunteers who want to serve on a regular basis and those who will volunteer occasionally. Meal Service Volunteers will help with final meal preparation tasks under the supervision of chef/kitchen staff. For example: stirring food, tossing salad, slicing bread, plating food. Meal servers will then distribute plated food to shelter guests, prepare 'late plates’, pour beverages, clear & wipe tables, clean up spills, etc. Volunteers need to be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time, use of hands and arms for stirring, slicing, lifting and pouring.
