Refugee Assistance Partners NJ (RAPNJ) is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to welcoming and supporting refugees as they build new lives in New Jersey. Through community partnerships, volunteers, and direct support initiatives, RAPNJ works to connect refugee families with resources, opportunities, and a strong network of community support.

Position Overview

RAPNJ is seeking a Strategic Partnerships & Resource Development Volunteer to help expand our network of community, nonprofit, corporate, educational, and philanthropic partners.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys making connections, researching opportunities, and helping a growing nonprofit build relationships that can lead to new resources, programs, volunteers, funding opportunities, and greater community visibility.

What You’ll Help With

• Identify potential community, nonprofit, corporate, educational, and faith-based partners throughout New Jersey
• Research organizations, businesses, foundations, and community groups that may align with RAPNJ’s mission
• Support outreach to prospective partners and help coordinate introductory conversations
• Identify potential sponsorship, grant, in-kind donation, and other resource development opportunities
• Help develop ideas for collaborative programs, events, and community initiatives
• Support efforts to expand RAPNJ’s presence and partnerships in communities where we would like to grow our reach
• Maintain simple records of outreach, contacts, opportunities, and follow-up needs
• Work with RAPNJ leadership and volunteers to identify partnership priorities and opportunities

• Enjoy networking, relationship-building, and connecting people and organizations
• Are comfortable conducting outreach by email, phone, or LinkedIn
• Are organized and able to independently follow up on opportunities
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Are interested in nonprofit development, community engagement, corporate partnerships, fundraising, or refugee and immigrant services
• Have familiarity with New Jersey communities and organizations — especially Union or Essex County — although this is not required

Experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, business development, community relations, corporate social responsibility, or partnership development is helpful but not required.
