Fundraising Advisory Board, Changing the Lives of Teen Parents In Foster Care

Purpose

The Fundraising Advisory Board exists to provide Bold Steps with strategic fundraising support, expert guidance, and direct contributions toward building the financial foundation necessary to launch and sustain our programs. Our current focus is breaking ground on a ranch-based housing community for teen parents in foster care by Fall 2026.

Membership Expectations

1. Leadership & Expertise

• Bring knowledge of fundraising best practices and/or lived experience in philanthropy, nonprofit development, or capital campaigns
• Contribute insights to Bold Steps’ fundraising strategy

1. Participation

• Attend meetings (frequency to be determined once the Advisory Board is assembled)
• Engage actively in discussions, offering advice, introductions, and guidance

1. Fundraising & Contributions

• Each member commits annually to at least one of the following:
• Make a meaningful financial contribution, or
• Host or co-host at least one fundraising event (e.g., house party, donor dinner, community gathering)
• Open doors to donors, foundations, or corporate partners
• Support Bold Steps in grant identification and review, or make introductions to grant writers/funding agencies

1. Advocacy & Visibility

• Serve as an ambassador for Bold Steps within personal and professional networks
• Share Bold Steps’ story with potential donors, volunteers, and partners

1. Commitment

• Minimum one-year commitment (renewable)
• Uphold the mission, values, and vision of Bold Steps
