Committee Summary
The Donor Engagement Committee is responsible for cultivating and maintaining meaningful relationships with AL!VE's donors and prospective supporters. The committee develops and implements strategies to increase philanthropic support, enhance donor retention, and ensure donors feel valued and connected to AL!VE's mission of advancing the field of volunteer engagement. The committee works collaboratively with AL!VE leadership to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities and sustainability goals.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Development Planning: Plan and oversee AL!VE's comprehensive development program, creating awareness among members, stakeholders, and partner organizations while ensuring strategic investment in fundraising activities
- Campaign & Initiative Support: Assist in planning and implementing annual giving campaigns, special appeals, and fundraising initiatives aligned with AL!VE's educational, advocacy, and outreach goals
- Prospect Research & Identification: Identify and research potential individual, corporate, and foundation donors aligned with AL!VE's mission
- Events & Recognition: Plan and execute donor appreciation events and cultivation activities that strengthen relationships and demonstrate gratitude
PROJECTS
- Develop a peer-to-peer fundraising toolkit for AL!VE members to support campaign efforts
- Organize virtual or in-person donor appreciation events (e.g., impact showcases, behind-the-scenes tours)
TIME COMMITMENT
4-6 hours per month
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills & Attributes:
- Passion for AL!VE's mission and commitment to advancing volunteer engagement
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment
- Basic proficiency with common technology platforms (email, video conferencing, document sharing)
- Reliability and follow-through on commitments
Preferred Experience:
- Fundraising, donor relations, development, or nonprofit advancement
- Donor management systems or CRM platforms
- Volunteer management or volunteer engagement
- Marketing, communications, or storytelling
- Event planning
- Grant writing or prospect research
