Volunteer Opportunity: Book Faire at Please Touch Museum

Join us for a joyful day of literacy, learning, and community at the Please Touch Museum Book Faire on May 9! We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help create a welcoming and organized experience for thousands of families attending this exciting event. Our goal is to connect children and caregivers with books that inspire imagination, curiosity, and a love of reading.

Volunteers will play an important role in supporting event operations in one of two key areas: Registration or Book Distribution.

Volunteer Responsibilities

Book Distribution Team

• Assist families in selecting age-appropriate books
• Keep books organized by category and restock tables as needed
• Maintain clean and inviting distribution areas
• Manage guest flow and provide a positive experience for visitors
• Encourage excitement around reading and literacy

Volunteer Shifts

• AM Shift: 8:15 AM – 12:30 PM
• PM Shift: 12:15 PM – 4:00 PM
• Full Day: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (with lunch break)

• Friendly and welcoming attitude
• Strong communication skills
• Reliable and punctual
• Comfortable standing/walking for periods of time
• Passion for supporting children, families, and literacy initiatives
