A Free Bird empowers children affected by cancer to discover their creativity through the arts. Based in NYC and operating nationally, our programs provide individualized artistic instruction and mentorship that supports healing, confidence, and growth. From painting and poetry to acting and music, we help children become artists of their own story.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a patient and passionate Piano Tutor to work in person with a student based in San Francisco. The ideal candidate will provide engaging and personalized lessons, guiding the student’s development in a positive and uplifting environment. No specific experience is required, but candidates with musical backgrounds will be given preference.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-person piano lessons tailored to the student’s goals and ability level
• Encourage creative self-expression through music
• Provide feedback and support to build skill and confidence
• Maintain regular communication with the A Free Bird team

Qualifications:

• Preferred: 2+ years of experience in piano instruction, performance, or music education
• Ability to work with students in a compassionate, patient, and motivating way
• Degree or certificate in music or piano performance is a plus
• Must be able to commute within San Francisco
