Digital Media Lab Volunteer

Digital Media Lab Background:

Hayward Public Library has launched the Digital Media Lab, where patrons are welcome to use Adobe Creative Cloud platforms for content creation. Patrons have access to platforms such as Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop.

Digital Media Lab Volunteer Tutors will be a coaching resource for patrons on a drop- in/casual basis. Volunteers will aid and coach those who need pointers and tips on any of Adobe’s Creative Cloud platforms. Volunteers are expected to commit roughly 2 hours per week to volunteering over the course of 6 months

Requirements:

This position requires a person with the following knowledge and skills:

• The ability to communicate effectively and patiently with teens, adults and seniors of all backgrounds, and library personnel.
• Customer service skills to ensure all interactions with patrons are positive, friendly, and helpful
• Sensitivity to diverse cultures and populations.
• Self-motivation/direction
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud platforms such as Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, or Illustrator.
• Familiarity with video and audio editing software and equipment
• Familiarity with or ability to learn to use iMacs
• 18+ years old
