Weekend Volunteer Opportunities at Share Ourselves

Share Ourselves Community Programs:

Food Pantry (Year-Round)

• Fill our shelves with canned goods, non-perishable items, and desserts
• Non-cooking Lunch Bags - sandwiches, chips, juice, yogurt, juice, and snacks.
• Hygiene Items - New toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, razors, deodorant, etc. Preferably travel sized
• Baby care products - new items only including diapers, formula, bottles, baby food, etc.
• Cold weather clothing such as hats, socks, shoes, scarves, coats and blankets

School Readiness Program (Year-Round)

• School supplies
• Backpacks

Thanksgiving Food Drive (November)

• Thanksgiving food items for families (non-perishable items)
• Donations of gift cards to grocery stores
• Frozen chicken, turkey or ham

Adopt a Family Program (December)

• Donations of gift cards to grocery stores
• Toys for children ages 2-17
• Cold weather clothing such as hats, socks, shoes, scarves, coats and blankets
• Games for the family

To volunteer for our Community Programs

Community Programs Volunteers are available throughout the year. Some examples are Adopt a Family, Back to School, and Thanksgiving Distribution. Once an event is scheduled I will reach out to volunteers registered for community programs.

Shifts: Different days and times depending on event needs.

Training needs:

Please fill out an application at Share Ourselves- Better Impact- Community Programs. Each person needs to fill out an application.

• • Once you fill out an application, please let me know.
  • Volunteers do NOT need to attend orientation.
  • All community event volunteers will be required to attend a huddle before an event going over the details and information for the day.
  • Before the event, participants will receive a timeline of the event, their assignment, and details about the event.
  • Other training will be provided, as necessary.

Age Requirements:

• **Volunteers MUST be at least 12 years old with an adult chaperone over the age of 18 in attendance.
  • Volunteers under the age of 16 and chaperones must be working together during the event, assigned to the same task.
  • Chaperones are to monitor volunteers under the age of 16 during all activities.
  • One adult chaperone is required for up to every 5 volunteers under the age of 16.
