LCU Fund for Women's Education Board Member

Be the Key to College Success!

Join the LCU Fund Board and help ensure women scholars can graduate without having to choose between paying rent and staying in school.

The LCU Fund for Women's Education is seeking mission-driven leaders to join our Board and help eliminate housing as a barrier to college completion, especially for students pursuing careers in the Arts, Education, Health Services, Public Administration, and Social Work.

Since 1858, we have helped women scholars overcome one of the biggest barriers to earning a degree: housing.

As a private grantmaking foundation, we partner with New York City colleges and universities to provide rent grants to students in need:

    • $18M+ awarded since 2000
    • 4,000 students supported across 35 campuses
    • $6,000 average grant for 150 students each year

As a Board member, you will:

    • Advocate for the LCU Fund as a visible ambassador
    • Shape strategy and guide the foundation’s future
    • Ensure financial health through oversight and fundraising
    • Support growth to expand our reach and impact

Candidates with expertise in finance, investment, or higher education are especially encouraged to apply.

    What’s Expected

Time & Engagement: About 4 hours per month

Active Participation: Five Board meetings a year (remote via Zoom on weekday evenings), annual in-person event in the fall and remote school site visits | scholar meet & greets (remote)

Financial Support: A minimum annual contribution of $1,250 through personal giving and/or fundraising efforts
