With 1 in 3 families unable to afford diapers for their children - something most of us take for granted, when you give a family struggling to afford diapers for their child a one-month supply, you're giving them and their family the gift of health and relieving stress of having to choose between diapers for their child and buying food or paying utility bills.
With the cost of diapers prohibitively expensive for many of our pediatric patients, Norwalk Community Health Center is honored to be a Norwalk community partner of the Diaper Connection, a collaboration with Nuvance/Northwell, and the Diaper Bank of Connecticut. Together we're working to ensure that newborns and toddlers have an adequate supply of clean diapers each month.
As an on-call diaper bank volunteer, working with our patients and the public, you'll staff a diaper bank table as needed on Saturdays in the health center, assisting families. Although not required, being bi-lingual English and Spanish or Haitian Creole will be helpful.
All potential volunteers are requested to complete an application and receive orientation and training.
