South Dallas, Lancaster, Hutchins, Duncanville areas

We are seeking volunteers, 18 years of age or older, to visit with our patients that would like to have visits weekly. Our volunteers can help people with taking walks, reading, watching TV, enjoying conversation about their lives and things they have accomplished or want to accomplish while they are still able. Very little physical contact, we do not lift or move our patents, and we are specifically looking for volunteers that can engage in conversation and spend about an hour a week with a new friend. We will sign off for school volunteer requirements. All volunteers must be able to drive and have their own transportation, we do not take patients in our vehicles, but you need to be able to get to and from the patient's location. Some are in private homes and some in Nursing facilities. We make sure that they volunteer goes into a safe and welcoming environment. All volunteers must have a valid State issues ID or passport, be able to take a TB test, drug test, and we run a background check as well. This is not a forever commitment, and you will have the chance to meet and become familiar with the patient to make sure you feel comfortable in your commitment.
