The purpose of logistics warehousing is to secure and store product used on the disaster relief operation. The role of the warehousing service associate is to complete assigned tasks within the responsibilities below.
Responsibilities and expectations include but are not limited to:
- Receive and unload product using Standards and Procedures
- Accurately receive and inventory products
- Move and store products per industry standards
- Accurately fill orders with warehouse products
- Accurately load product on delivery vehicles to fill orders
- Maintain worker and equipment safety per industry standards
Qualifications:
- Willingness to comply with Red Cross COVID-19 policies for in-person volunteer activities.
- Good organizational skills, responsible and punctual.
- Demonstrated active listening skills.
- Ability to learn Staging Area (warehousing) Standards and Procedures and follow associated job tools including reporting requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Familiarity with proper moving of materials in warehouse.
- Ability to learn how to in identify, organize, plan & allocate resources.
- Ability to participate and contribute in regular meetings.
- Familiarity with or working knowledge of shipping, receiving and storing material.
- Ability to operate and maintain warehouse equipment.
- Customer Focus Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.
- Action Oriented Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.

- Is able to:
- Lift/carry 20 lbs. and/or 50 lbs. multiple times/shift
- Work outdoors in inclement weather, including extreme heat and/or humidity and/or extreme cold
- Stand and/or sit for two-hour periods
- Walk on uneven terrain
- Speak clearly on phone and in person
- Work for long periods on computer, writing or reading small print
- Climb two or more flights of stairs and/or bend or stoop multiple times and/or walk for two miles during a shift
