Volunteer Opportunity: Laser Dandiya Night 2025

CultureX Foundation is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help make our Laser Dandiya Night with Hetal Brahmbhatt an unforgettable community celebration at Foothill High School in Pleasanton on September 20, 2025.

Event Overview

Join our team in organizing a high-energy Dandiya Night featuring live performance by Swaranjali Band, spectacular laser light show, and traditional dance celebration. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to cultural preservation while gaining event management experience.

Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities

Event Setup & Logistics (4-6 volunteers needed)

• Arrive at 4:00 PM for venue setup and decoration
• Assist with stage setup, sound system coordination, and laser equipment positioning
• Arrange seating, kids area setup, and vendor booth preparation
• Help with parking guidance and signage placement

Registration & Ticketing (3-4 volunteers needed)

• Manage check-in desk using Zeffy platform integration
• Verify tickets, handle on-site registrations, and process group bookings
• Distribute event materials and answer attendee questions
• Assist with Dandiya sales coordination

Kids Area Supervision (2-3 volunteers needed)

• Supervise children's activities and ensure safety in designated kids zone
• Organize age-appropriate games and activities during the event
• Coordinate with parents and maintain engaging environment for children under 7

Event Coordination & Support (3-4 volunteers needed)

• Assist with crowd management and venue flow
• Coordinate with sponsors (Ameriprise Financial, Mantra India, Chaat Bhavan, King Studios, Spundhann)
• Support technical crew during laser show and band performance
• Handle general attendee assistance and event logistics

Qualifications & Requirements

• Enthusiasm for Indian culture and community events
• Reliable and punctual with ability to commit to full event duration (4:00 PM - 10:00 PM)
• Strong communication skills and friendly demeanor
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weight
• Previous event volunteer experience preferred but not required
• Bilingual skills (English/Hindi/Gujarati) welcomed but not mandatory

Time Commitment

• Mandatory volunteer briefing: September 18, 7:00 PM (virtual)
