Pro Bono Attorney Volunteer Opportunity (New Jersey Licensed)

A small, New Jersey based nonprofit organization providing youth sports, arts, education and service programming is seeking a New Jersey licensed attorney to serve in a pro bono advisory capacity.

The attorney will work collaboratively with organizational leadership and the Board of Directors during a period of organizational strengthening and transition. Responsibilities may include:

• Advising leadership and the Board on corporate governance and nonprofit compliance matters as requested.
• Assisting with the drafting and review of organizational policies and procedures
• Providing guidance related to leadership and succession planning
• Assisting with litigation-related matters, including issue spotting, strategic guidance, and referrals to outside counsel as appropriate

Time Commitment: Annually (appx. 1 hour) for Board Retreat; otherwise, this role is highly flexible and advisory-based. All work is performed remotely.

Qualifications:

• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of New Jersey
• Experience with nonprofit, corporate, insurance, or litigation matters is strongly preferred
• Interest in supporting community-based organizations and youth-serving nonprofits
• Ability to provide practical, thoughtful legal guidance in a collaborative environment
