Role Overview
ORIONA is seeking a Strategic Programs Planner. A visionary and analytical professional responsible for designing high impact programs aligned with the organization’s mission, vision and values.
This role sits at the core of ORIONA’s growth. You will not simply propose ideas, you will engineer transformative initiatives that address real challenges faced by refugee and host communities.
From concept to execution framework, you will design structured, scalable and sustainable programs that shape the future of ORIONA’s work.
Key Responsibilities
1.Identify pressing challenges affecting refugee and host communities (education, mental health, livelihoods, social integration, etc.)
2.Design comprehensive, evidence-based programs and projects from scratch
3.Develop detailed concept notes, implementation plans and impact frameworks
4.Align all programs with ORIONA’s mission, vision and core values
5.Integrate cross-sector approaches including:
-Peer-to-peer counseling and psychosocial support
-Education and youth empowerment
-Creative expression (media, arts, storytelling)
-Economic inclusion and livelihood development
-Community engagement and development
6.Conduct basic research and needs assessments to inform program design
7.Collaborate with teams (media, partnerships, field volunteers) to refine ideas
8.Ensure programs are scalable, fundable and impactful
Ideal Candidate Profile
You are not defined by titles but by your ability to think, design and execute.
We are looking for someone who:
1.Has knowledge or experience in:
-Refugee studies, humanitarian work, or community development
-Program design, project planning or social innovation
-Understands the realities of displaced and underserved communities
-Is skilled in structuring ideas into clear, actionable frameworks
2.Has experience or interest in:
-Peer counseling or psychosocial support
-Education programs or youth development
-Creative or media-driven initiatives
-Economic empowerment or livelihood projects
3.Can think both strategically and practically
4.Is a strong writer (able to produce clear proposals and plans)
