Position Title: Social Media Volunteer
Organization: Haitian Christian Outreach
Location: Remote
Position Type: Volunteer (Eligible for College Credit)
Time Commitment: 8-12 hours per week
Duration: 9-12 weeks, Summer 2026
Position Summary: Haitian Christian Outreach is seeking a Social Media volunteer to support the organization’s digital communications and social media efforts. This internship is designed for a college student interested in marketing, communications, digital media, or non profit work who has a strong interest in visual content creation and mission-driven storytelling.
The Social Media volunteer will assist in the creation of short-form video content, visual graphics, and social media ideas that align with HCO’s brand, values, and Christian Faith. This role requires a high level of professionalism, creativity and alignment with HCO’s mission and beliefs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and edit short-form video content for HCO’s social media platforms
- Develop visual assets and graphics consistent with HCO’s branding and messaging.
- Assist with formatting and preparing content for social media publishing
- Assist with formatting and preparing content for social media publishing
- Contribute ideas and recommendations for growing social media channels in the nonprofit and faith-based space
- Support digital campaigns focused on prayer, awareness, and engagement
- Monitor trends and best practices in nonprofit and faith-based social media
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled
- Demonstrated interest in social media, digital marketing, communications, or nonprofit work
- Experience with video editing and graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, Adobe tools)
- Ability to create visually engaging content for social media platforms
- Strong attention to details and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines
- Alignment with HCO’s mission, statement of faith, and Christian values is required
Professional Expectations:
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information
- Communicate with staff and team members in a timely manner
- Accept feedback and revisions as needed
- Be an ambassador for HCO by helping spread the word and sharing our mission with everyone you know
