Direct Care Hospice Volunteer

AccentCare Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers to bring comfort, companionship and care to patients and facing life-limiting illness. As a hospice volunteer, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference- offering a listening ear, sharing stories, or simply being a quiet presence during this special time.

Volunteer Opportunities include:

• Companionship visits with patients and families
• reading, music, games, or life activities
• Caregiver relief
• Emotional support
• Office/ clerical support for the Hospice team
• Assisting with events or bereavement support
• Care calls to patients
• Vigil volunteering for patients in their final hours

Requirements:

To ensure the safety and quality of care we provide, all Direct care volunteers must complete

• Background check
• tuberculosis (TB) Test
• Drug screening
• volunteer training modules
• Valid Government I.D.
• Valid Visa and Social Security number (for identification and screening process)
