LOCATION: Remote/Olympia, Washington State
REPORTS TO: Marketing Manager
LEVEL/SALARY: Unpaid Volunteer
DESIRED HOURS: Monday through Friday, Part-time Flexible Hours, 10am-2pm PST
ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION: C.A.R.E. Wellness Center & Services
C.A.R.E. Wellness Center & Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating safe, holistic, and culturally grounded wellness experiences for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and allies. We provide healing-centered programs, community engagement activities, farm-based retreats, and mental wellness resources that promote racial justice, spiritual well-being, and reconnection to nature.
Our programs support individuals impacted by systemic trauma, including justice-involved community members, foster youth, and those navigating mental health challenges. Volunteers play a critical role in helping us strengthen community connections and expand wellness access.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Event Coordinator (Volunteer) supports the planning and preparation of community events, workshops, and wellness activities that align with C.A.R.E.’s mission. This is a flexible, collaborative role ideal for individuals who want to contribute their creativity, organizational skills, and passion for community wellness.
This volunteer role works closely with other team members and allows you to contribute based on your skills and availability. Responsibilities are adaptable and can match your interests, capacity, and desired learning goals.
We are also in need of hands-on support during upcoming event on a local, organic farm.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for professional, highly motivated, and enthusiastic volunteers who are available and interested in volunteering in person and/or remotely to help leadership and facilitators at an upcoming wellness events in rural Washington.
Volunteers may support the following areas depending on interest and availability:
Event Support
- Assist with planning and organizing upcoming wellness and community events.
- Help prepare event timelines, checklists, and logistics needs.
- Support coordination with volunteers, community partners, and program teams.
Participant & Community Engagement
- Provide friendly communication to event participants through email or messaging platforms.
- Help respond to general event questions and provide guidance to attendees.
- Support community outreach efforts to inform the public about wellness offerings.
Marketing & Promotion
- Assist the Marketing Team with social media posts, event listings, or outreach materials.
- Help distribute marketing content through community channels and partner organizations.
- Contribute creative ideas for increasing participation and visibility.
Fundraising Support (Optional)
- Assist with tracking event participation or community engagement numbers.
- Help organize in-kind donations or community partnership leads.
Day-of-Event Support (Optional)
- Assist with virtual or in-person event tasks such as greeting guests, helping with check-in, or supporting volunteer teams.
- Help ensure participants have a positive and welcoming experience.
PROGRAMS USED:
Volunteers may use the following tools (training provided):
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Notion CRM
- Email and communication platforms
- Basic office equipment
- Online fundraising/event platforms
WORK CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This volunteer role is primarily remote, with optional opportunities to support community events in Olympia or surrounding areas.
Tasks can be adapted to meet your accessibility needs. Reasonable accommodations are available.
Event environments may occasionally include outdoor settings, plants, animals, or natural elements. Physical tasks (such as lifting or long periods of standing) are optional, not required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
There are no required degrees or minimum experience to volunteer. Volunteers who enjoy the following may be a great fit:
- Interest in event planning, marketing, wellness, or community engagement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate in a supportive, mission-driven environment
- Passion for community wellness, cultural healing, and social equity
Training and support will be provided. Students, career changers, wellness practitioners, and community members are encouraged to participate.
