Patient Companion Volunteer- Perry County
Descripción
Descripción
Just a few hours of your time can make a world of difference.
Gentiva Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers in the Perry County area to provide companionship and emotional support to patients living at home, in nursing homes, and in assisted living communities.
You do not need medical experience. We provide training, and your volunteer schedule is completely flexible. Whether you have a few hours a month or a few hours a week, your presence can bring comfort, joy, and connection to someone facing a difficult time.
Ways You Can Make a Difference
- Share conversations and listen to life stories
- Read books, magazines, or devotionals
- Watch television or movies together
- Play games, complete puzzles, or enjoy simple activities
- Listen to music or sing favorite songs
- Help write cards, letters, or special messages
- Offer companionship and a caring presence
Sometimes the most meaningful gift is simply showing up.
A friendly visit can ease loneliness, brighten someone's day, and create lasting memories for patients and their families. Volunteers often tell us they receive just as much from the experience as they give.
