Volunteer Gardener – Help Us Create Community Gardens at Villa Rosa Retirement Home

Ardmore Enterprises is seeking a volunteer with a green thumb to help us design and plant beautiful gardens at Villa Rosa Retirement Home in Lanham. This opportunity will support both beautification of the outdoor space and meaningful engagement for residents who enjoy spending time outdoors.

We’re hoping to create a wildflower garden as well as a vegetable garden that residents can help care for, enjoy, and harvest. The goal is to build a welcoming, vibrant outdoor area where people can pick flowers, grow fresh vegetables, and connect with nature together. 🌿

This opportunity is flexible and can take a few different forms depending on your availability and interest:

• A one-time volunteer opportunity to help plan and design the garden layout and plant selections
• A short-term project helping us get the gardens started
• An ongoing volunteer role assisting with seasonal planting, maintenance, and gardening alongside residents

What You’ll Do:

• Help plan and design a wildflower and vegetable garden
• Assist with planting and garden setup
• Share gardening knowledge and ideas
• (Optional) Volunteer regularly to help maintain the gardens with our team and residents

Who We’re Looking For:

• Someone who enjoys gardening and outdoor spaces
• Experience with garden planning, wildflowers, or vegetable gardening is a plus
• Friendly and comfortable working alongside older adults and people with disabilities
• Creative ideas for making gardens accessible and enjoyable for everyone
