Through mentorship, education, social-emotional learning, creative expression, and community-based programming, MAP works to ensure that young people have stability, opportunity, and voice.

In addition to direct services, MAP engages in responsible, compliant advocacy to elevate issues affecting children and families experiencing housing instability.

    Purpose of the Role

The Advocacy Coordinator supports MAP’s advocacy and policy-related efforts by helping organize campaigns, coordinate messaging, and engage community stakeholders. This role bridges on-the-ground program realities with public awareness—ensuring that advocacy work remains ethical, nonpartisan, and aligned with 501(c)(3) requirements.

    • Collaborate with Policy, Communications, and Program teams
    • Support documentation, reporting, and internal tracking of advocacy efforts
    • Participate in meetings, planning sessions, and feedback cycles
    • Check and respond to emails daily, with responses within 48 hours

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to organize information, timelines, and outreach efforts
    • Sensitivity to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and youth-centered work
    • Understanding of or willingness to learn nonprofit advocacy compliance
    • Collaborative, thoughtful, and mission-driven approach

    • Bilingual or multilingual abilities (Spanish or Haitian Creole preferred)
