Summary of position: The Lead Kits for Kids Volunteer will work alongside the Director of Kits Programs based in Centennial, to coordinate and lead Kits for Kids events and programming nationally. The Lead Kits for Kids volunteer will oversee additional volunteers who assist with community outreach, inventory of supplies, and preparing for and hosting events. This role requires a high degree of organization, attention to detail, self-motivation, and professionalism.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide support to the Director of Kits Programs in various tasks and projects related to Kits for Kids events, administrative tasks, and community outreach.
- Train and supervise volunteers who provide support for the Kits for Kids program.
- Plan and host Kits for Kids events both locally and across the country.
- Provide general administrative support for the Kits for Kids program, including sending emails, returning phone calls, and quality check of bags.
- Conduct market research and outreach to prospective partners and donors.
- Host tables at outreach events, such as community meetings and conferences.
- Maintain product inventory, pack and ship pallets and packages to event locations.
- Always maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Report any injuries, accidents, or potentially hazardous situations immediately to the supervisor. If a direct supervisor is not immediately available, report to any Project C.U.R.E. staff member.
- Willingness and ability to travel is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and people skills, comfort with cold calling new partners.
- Basic knowledge of computer and email technology.
- Willingness and ability to train volunteers.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizations skills are essential.
