Compassionate Companion for Sweet Senior with Dementia (Tuesdays, 1–5 PM)

We are seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and reliable volunteer to spend Tuesday afternoons with a lovely senior living with dementia in Acworth, GA.

Dementia can be isolating, but a friendly face and a consistent routine make a world of difference. Your presence will provide this senior with vital social interaction and mental stimulation, while giving her primary caregivers a much-needed break.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide warm companionship, active listening, and a supportive presence.
• Engage in simple, low-stress activities (e.g., listening to music, looking through photo albums, reading aloud, or enjoying light conversation).
• Ensure her comfort and safety during the 4-hour visit.

Requirements

• Consistency is crucial: Because routine is vital for individuals with dementia, we need someone who can reliably commit to Tuesdays from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
• Patience, kindness, and a calm demeanor.
• Previous experience with dementia or senior care is a plus, but a compassionate heart and a willingness to learn are most important.
