REMOTE Opportunity: Volunteer for VITAS Healthcare Telephone Proactive Remote Calling Team

AT THIS TIME, WE ARE LOOKING FOR CALLERS ONLY IN THE SOUTH FLORIDA, USA REGION.

VITAS is looking for caring volunteers to share their voice and time as Proactive Caller to help terminally ill patients and their families. Our Proactive volunteers make "check-in" phone calls to our patient/families at home, asking how they are doing, checking on needed supplies, listening, and identifying any service concerns.

If you enjoy talking on the phone and have time to make check-in calls, you may be a perfect Proactive Caller Volunteer. You can work from your dorm room, apartment, home, or the VITAS office.

VITAS provides free volunteer orientation to help you learn the skills required to be an outstanding volunteer caller. This training is preferred to be done in person in our office OR we can do remote training virtually.

Volunteering can strengthen your resume for post-college job interviews and careers.

PRE- REQUISITE: 1) You must have basic computer/internet skills and be able to operate from either a desktop or laptop computer, as you can not operate this program from your cell phone.

2) You must be committed to make your calls at least 1x/week for approximately 2 hours per session.

2) Previous Call Center/Phone program experience is very helpful, but not required.
