Friendly Visitor with Evergreen Hospice

Compassion Needed. No Experience Required.

We are seeking compassionate volunteers to share their time and talents with individuals who would benefit from companionship and human connection.

Volunteers may support patients in many meaningful ways, including:

• • Sitting bedside and talking or offering a quiet presence
  • Listening to stories or reading aloud
  • Playing a musical instrument or a patient’s favorite music
  • Bringing a well-behaved dog for a visit
  • Painting fingernails or engaging in simple creative activities
  • Helping celebrate birthdays or special moments
  • Providing caregivers with a much-needed break so they can recharge

Addressing loneliness through human connection is so simple—and abundantly meaningful.

No prior experience is required. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds who are kind, reliable, and willing to listen. Training and support are provided.

We have opportunities 7 days a week to fit your schedule. Our visits will take place at Evergreen Community in Olathe, or occasionally at a patient's home in Johnson, Douglas and Wyandotte counties. Your time, however you choose to share it, can bring comfort, dignity, and connection when it is needed most.
