Hospice Volunteer Opportunity

Make a difference in someone’s life when it matters most.

Our hospice program is seeking compassionate and dependable volunteers to join our caring team. Hospice volunteers offer comfort, companionship, and practical support to patients and families during their end-of-life journey. Whether you sit and talk with a patient, read aloud, run errands, or simply hold a hand, your presence can bring peace and dignity in a deeply meaningful way.

What you’ll do:

• Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and families
• Offer respite for caregivers
• Assist with activities like reading, writing letters, or light household support
• Participate in special events or administrative projects

What we provide:

• Comprehensive training to prepare you for your role
• Ongoing support and supervision from our hospice care team
• Flexible scheduling based on your availability

Ideal qualities:

• Compassionate, nonjudgmental, and reliable
• Good listener with a calm and caring presence
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and boundaries

Location: Our office is located in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. We service the Chicagoland area.

Hours: Flexible; typically 2–4 hours per week

Training: Provided at no cost
