Volunteer sign-up for the 2026 Garden & Green Living Expo is now open!
Support PBS Wisconsin's mission to enrich, educate, and entertain diverse audiences of all ages by volunteering at the 2026 Garden & Green Living Expo, scheduled February 13-15 at the Exhibition Hall at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin. The Garden & Green Living Expo is a community educational event and fundraiser hosted by PBS Wisconsin and the UW-Madison - Extension Horticulture Program. This three-day event celebrates the latest trends in gardening, landscaping, and green living with more than 100 free educational seminars and demonstrations. It takes more than 250 volunteers to help make the show a success. We offer 30 diverse volunteer roles—including ticket taker, handstamper, ticket sales, volunteer check-in, attendee greeter, seminar assistant, and more—with most volunteer shifts between three to four hours long.
Volunteers will receive a one-day admission ticket and parking pass on the day(s) you volunteer so you can fully enjoy the show—including the free education offerings and Exhibitor Mall—before or after your shift.

How to sign up to volunteer:
- Visit https://uw.volunteermatters.org/project-catalog/249 and click the blue "Volunteer" button next to your desired shift under the "How You Can Help" section. Please read the job description to ensure you meet the job requirements for the position.
- Login to sign up or register for an account:
- If you already have a VolunteerMatters account, click on the "Login" button and enter your credentials to sign up for a shift.
- If you have not yet registered for a volunteer account, click on the "Register Now" button and fill out the required form. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete registration. Once registered, you can sign up for open volunteer shifts. Please note, you will select "UW-Madison" as your campus and "Wisconsin Public Media" as the Madison/Extension Primary Volunteering Area during the registration process. Make sure to save your username and password for future access to your volunteer account.
