Role Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Responsibilities: Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, audits, and compliance with legal and nonprofit regulations. Provide financial reports to the board, maintain oversight of financial health, and advise on financial strategy. Collaborate with fundraising efforts to align financial goals and budgets.
- Qualifications: Experience in finance, accounting, and/or financial management, preferably at a nonprofit. Possesses strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Knowledge of nonprofit financial regulations and compliance requirements.

- LGBTQ+ Community Experience, Allyship, and Intersectionality: Strong personal, professional, or lived experience with LGBTQ+ communities, either as a member or through committed allyship, with a deep understanding of intersectionality and how various identities (e.g., race, gender, socioeconomic status) intersect with LGBTQ+ experiences.
- Collaborative Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to work effectively with board members, volunteers, and external partners to achieve organizational goals. Demonstrates strong communication skills to engage, inspire, and maintain relationships with diverse perspectives and experiences.

All board members are expected to:
- Commit to a minimum of 3-4 hours per month for a two-year term.
- Maintain a current PFLAG LA membership.
- Attend quarterly + special board meetings and training as needed.
- Actively participate in advancing our mission through their expertise and networks.
