As a HELP Swim Volunteer Swim Instructor, you will play a vital role in delivering life-saving learn-to-swim and drowning prevention lessons to children between the ages of 3 and 16. Your mission will be to provide classes that are not only safe and effective, but also full of fun, respect, and encouragement. You will work hand-in-hand with the HELP Swim Environmental Educator, together running our comprehensive drowning prevention and water stewardship program.
This position is only available during the Peruvian summer months, when lessons take place for about 15–20 hours per week. Living in Huanchaco, a vibrant surf town on Peru’s northern coast, will give you the chance to experience life by the ocean while making a tangible difference in children’s lives.
This is a hands-on role, perfect for those passionate about working with children, teaching swimming, and promoting environmental awareness around water safety. You will gain first-hand experience in the world of grassroots NGOs, develop leadership and teamwork skills, and connect with both the local community and an international team of volunteers.
