Help Inspire Youth for Black History Month

Heartshare St. Vincent's Family Service (HSVS) American Dream Program is hosting a Black History Month Celebration to honor the legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This event will help inspire youth to explore higher education pathways and see themselves as part of a rich and vibrant history.

The American Dream Program focuses on improving educational and life outcomes for children and youth in foster care. The program combines mentorship, connection to a caring adult, educational advocacy, and trauma-informed educational support services for youth in foster care from middle school through college.

To help make this celebration truly special, we are looking for volunteers to support with setup and preparation. Your time and energy will directly help create an educational and inspiring environment for the youth we serve.

Event Details: HSVS Black History Month Celebration

Location: Dodge YMCA, 225 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11201

Volunteer Tasks: Decorating, arranging tables, blowing up balloons, and serving food.

Volunteer Shifts:

• February 17th: 12 PM – 2 PM
• February 18th (Day of Event): 3 PM – 6 PM
