Role Summary:

The Biochar Expert will provide technical expertise in biochar production, application, and carbon sequestration strategies. This role supports the design and implementation of regenerative systems that enhance soil health, reduce emissions, and contribute to sustainable land management aligned with the organization’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expertise on biochar production methods, including feedstock selection, pyrolysis processes, and quality standards.
• Support the development and implementation of biochar-based projects for soil enhancement and carbon sequestration.
• Analyze data related to soil health, carbon capture, and environmental impact.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate biochar solutions into broader climate and sustainability initiatives.
• Identify opportunities, risks, and innovations in biochar systems and regenerative practices.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in biochar systems, soil science, environmental science, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of carbon sequestration, soil ecology, and regenerative agriculture practices.
• Familiarity with biochar production technologies and environmental impact assessment.
• Ability to interpret and communicate scientific data effectively.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with lifecycle analysis and carbon accounting methodologies.
• Familiarity with sustainable agriculture or forestry systems.
• Experience working on nonprofit or mission-driven environmental projects.
