Descripción
Want to help refugee students succeed in school? Since 1982, RefugeeOne has welcomed over 22,000 refugees and newcomers from all over the world to Chicago - and we need your support to help refugee youth thrive!
Volunteers in our In-Home Youth Tutoring program will be matched 1:1 with a recently arrived school-aged youth (5-14) to serve as a friend and role model. Tutors meet refugee students in their homes to:
- Provide academic tutoring
- Practice English
- Encourage healthy school habits
- Provide social support as they navigate life and school in Chicago
- Share culture and hobbies
- ...and more!
Requirements: Minimum commitment of weekly meetings for 6 months in client home. Both weekends & weekdays available, flexible scheduling to match your availability. No additional languages skills required.
