    Type: Volunteer (unpaid)

    About Us

The M.O.M. Project (Mending Our Mistakes, Inc.) is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting noncustodial parents as they rebuild their lives and relationships with their children. We provide trauma-informed programs, supervised visitation opportunities, peer mentorship, and advocacy for systemic reform in Arkansas and beyond.

    Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate volunteer to help us raise critical funds that fuel our programs. This role is perfect for someone who wants to build experience in nonprofit development while making a meaningful impact on families navigating custody loss.

    Responsibilities

    1. Research and identify potential donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities.
    2. Assist in writing grant proposals, fundraising letters, and donor outreach.
    3. Help design and run fundraising campaigns (online or community-based).
    4. Track donor information and ensure thank-you notes and updates are sent.
    5. Brainstorm creative ways to engage community partners, businesses, and churches in supporting our work.

    Qualifications

    1. Strong written and communication skills.
    2. Interest or background in fundraising, development, communications, or nonprofit work.
    3. Organized and self-motivated.
    4. Compassion for families facing difficult custody challenges.

    What You Gain

    1. Hands-on fundraising/development experience with a grassroots nonprofit.
    2. The opportunity to shape and grow a new program from the ground up.
    3. Recognition in our publications and events.
    4. The deep reward of helping mothers and children reconnect.

    Instrucciones:
    • The "No Pity" Messaging Policy: Strictly prohibit sob stories or charity-trope messaging. Frame donor contributions as investments in regional family infrastructure and civic economic growth.
    • Business Sponsorship Value Exchange: Instruct them to pitch businesses on clear return-on-investment (ROI)—such as tiered naming rights, logo placement on transit shuttles and trade hardhats, and verifiable CSR/ESG impact reporting.
    • Tangible Monthly Giving Metrics: For recurring individual donors ("Family Champions"), give them concrete impact numbers to use rather than vague asks:
      • $25/month = Door-to-door transit for a parent reporting to daily trade training.
      • $50/month = Safe PRISM visitation suite access for a child and noncustodial parent.
      • $100/month = Full digital workstation access and Grow with Google certification tools.
    • Participant Privacy & Confidentiality: Never share participant names, court records, or family case details in marketing or donor emails. All impact stories must be anonymized to protect family dignity and court integrity.
