Looking for a way to positively impact Columbus Cancer Clinic patients each time you volunteer? Interested in volunteering behind the scenes? Looking for a one-time or ongoing volunteer opportunity? This could be for you! Volunteer with LifeCare Alliance, on the westside of Columbus, in a warehouse environment, as a Groceries-to-Go Pantry Support Volunteer. Use written lists to navigate the pantry, locate groceries, and fill orders for Columbus Cancer Clinic clients and their families. Stock new inventory on shelves, rotating older items to the front for distribution, organize and stock inventory according to categories (fruits, vegetables, pasta, etc.) and bag grocery orders for pickup. The ideal volunteer for this position will lift 10-15 lbs when filling grocery orders, and lift up to 25-30 lbs when stocking shelves while using their manual dexterity and engaging in some standing, walking, lifting, stooping, and bending while volunteering.
To volunteer, join the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) a volunteer program exclusive to Ohio residents in Franklin County ages 55 years and older. We match volunteers ages 55+ with nonprofits in their community that either need or rely on volunteers to be able to provide their services. Funded through the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and part of AmeriCorps Seniors, VANTAGE Aging’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is one of the largest volunteer networks in the nation for people 55 years and over. We partner with nonprofit agencies to match these older adults to their volunteer opportunities. RSVP projects link the skills of the volunteers with the identified needs of the community. We think of ourselves as the 'center hub' for our volunteers looking for opportunities. We offer many wonderful incentives and perks to our team of RSVP volunteers, this program is free and so rewarding to be a part of.
