Volunteer with RRUFF Healing Heroes!

Are you passionate about supporting Veterans and First Responders? Do you want to give back to your community while helping a growing nonprofit make a lasting impact?

RRUFF Healing Heroes is always looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team! Whether you have a few hours each month or are looking for an ongoing way to get involved, we'd love to find a role that matches your interests and skills.

Volunteer opportunities include:

Committee Members

Serve alongside our Board of Directors by joining one of our committees. Committee members are welcome to attend board meetings (without voting authority), making this a great opportunity to learn about nonprofit leadership and explore future board service.

Current committees include:

• Outreach (our most active committee!)
• Fundraising (currently growing our team)
• Governance
• Finance

Administrative Volunteers

Support RRUFF behind the scenes with projects such as:

• Applying for in-kind donations for fundraising events
• Grant research and writing
• Community outreach research
• Building lists of potential training partners, veterinarians, sponsors, and community organizations
• General administrative support

We'll provide guidance and resources to help you succeed.

Event Volunteers

Represent RRUFF at community events throughout the Greater Sacramento region. Volunteers help staff booths, engage with the public, assist with fundraising activities, and share our mission. We also host an annual community dog park clean-up where volunteers help care for the park that started it all.

Whether you're looking to gain nonprofit experience, meet great people, develop professional skills, or simply give back, we'd love to connect with you.
