A visit with your pet makes a "Dog-Gone" difference- VITAS Healthcare- De Soto, MO 63020

VITAS Healthcare is looking for dog owners to help out as Paw Pals Volunteers. VITAS Paw Pals volunteers visit hospice patients residing at nursing homes and long term care facilities in DeSoto, MO to bring joy and comfort at the end of life. By visiting with your dog as a VITAS Paw Pal Volunteer, you can bring back memories, encourage activity and provide unconditional love to VITAS patients. Your visits leave behind memories of you and your pet, and rekindle thoughts of other pets. All kinds of pets are invited to join VITAS’ Paw Pals Program (dogs are especially welcome). Every VITAS volunteer receives training in hospice philosophy, how to support patients/families, health/safety precautions and more. We provide comprehensive training and orientation for hospice volunteers. Days and times for volunteering are flexible according to your availability.
