AccentCare Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers to sit vigil with our patients who are actively dying. Whether you are playing music, praying, reading aloud, or simply providing a supportive presence, you can make a difference in the lives of hospice patients at the end of life.
AccentCare Hospice, formerly Seasons Hospice, serves patients and families across southeastern Michigan, including in your area. We are currently seeking new volunteers who wish to sit vigil with patients who are at the end of life. Vigil Volunteers are individuals who are specially trained to meet the needs of our dying patients and their families/chosen families. These volunteers provide emotional and practical support to all individuals in the home, communication to other family members, psychosocial education around the dying process and bereavement, facilitate legacy projects, and strive to honor the patient’s end of life wishes and rituals.
Even if you only have a few hours a month to give, we would be honored to have you join our team and support our mission of offering compassionate, personalized hospice care. Training is free and flexible to fit your schedule and you are able to choose what area you want to serve.
We look forward to hearing from you and helping you find ways to share your time with those at the end of life.
