    Descripción

Volunteer to support our second Co-Lab cohort at Saint Paul College. Co-Lab is an exciting career development opportunity available for Twin Cities young adults ages 18 to 24. To set youth on a path to success, the Co-Lab offers a 12-week, workforce-driven experience that blends career exploration, personal development, and wraparound support.

As a volunteer, you’ll join a Co-Lab session to help our staff lead throughout the afternoon session, including setting up, helping participants check in and out, distributing items, replenishing snacks, welcoming speakers, helping with activities, and cleaning up. There may be down time at different points throughout your volunteer shift. This role is great for someone who likes socializing with others, has flexibility, and can support behind-the-scenes tasks.

    Responsibilities:

    • Register to volunteer with Wilder.
    • Arrive at the designated time and check in with your Wilder staff contact upon arrival.
    • Support check in and make sure participants scan in for attendance. May also check off our attendance sheet as back up.
    • Support set up or clean up throughout the shift, including replenishing snacks. This may be at the beginning and end or when we transition between activities.
    • Greet speakers at the entrance and help them find the classroom.
    • Help with activities like collages or vision boards.
    • Ensure participants check out as they exit.
    • Engage positively with participants and staff throughout the event.
    • Follow safety guidelines to keep participants safe, including not being alone with a participant at any time.
    • Provide optional feedback about the volunteer experience through surveys or conversations with Wilder staff.
    • Uphold Wilder's organizational values and commitment to supporting children, families, and communities.

    Qualifications:

    • Be 18 years of age or older.
    • Have patience and flexibility.
    • Be able to interact with and assist people of varying backgrounds, cultures and identities, including race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, ability or disability, age, gender, gender expression, religion, etc.
    • Be able to follow directions.
    • Be highly respectful of confidentiality.
    • Be dependable and arrive on time.

    Schedule and Location:

    • Timing: One or multiple afternoon shifts from 12:30-5:15pm on Tuesdays or Thursdays between now and December 17. One volunteer per date.
      • October 27, November 5, and November 19 are dates with the highest need for volunteer support.
      • You may be done before 5:15pm, depending on the day.
