A guardian is someone who has been appointed by the court to make decisions and take actions for another person who is not able to make decisions for themselves. A guardian is not a caregiver, but makes arrangements to ensure the person receives the proper level and type of care, soliciting as much input from the person as possible.
Mary is an 80- year old woman living in the community with dementia. Despite the challenges she faces, Mary has clearly expressed along with her close friends that she wishes to remain in the community she calls home.
We are currently seeking a compassionate volunteer guardian to advocate on Mary's behalf and assit in securing the resources and support she needs to continue receiving appropriate care while staying in her current enviroment.
