Description:

• Formed in 1955, Beach Cities Health District is a public agency that provides health care services to the communities of Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach.
• Volunteer Services hosts over 1,000 volunteers in more than 25 different programs. Each year, volunteers contribute over 30,000 hours of service to the beach cities community. This program helps to match individuals to a volunteer opportunity that connects them to their purpose.

Duties:

• Answer inquiries from community regarding volunteer opportunities
• Conduct intakes to match potential volunteers appropriately to opportunities
• Update volunteer records if there is missing demographic information
• Collaborate with volunteer supervisors to move potential volunteers through the recruitment process
• Maintain updated Volgistics (volunteer management database) throughout recruitment process
• Assist with additional volunteer administrative duties as assigned (e.g., monthly hours distribution report, 90-day survey process)
• Promote volunteer opportunities at community fairs or purpose workshops (optional)

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older with past volunteer experience (BCHD or other agency)
• Friendly, positive, and excellent people and telephone skills
• Extensive customer service and clerical skills
• Must be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook with ability to learn Volgistics volunteer management software
