Volunteer with Pierce Conservation District from 9 AM to 12 PM on Saturday, March 21st, at Edgewood's Nelson Nature Park and help keep this neighborhood gem a healthy green space! Activities will include caring for existing plants, removing invasive plant species, and sheet mulching bare soil to prevent regrowth of weeds. This work supports water quality, local wildlife, and our essential pollinators. Exact meeting location will be provided after signing up.
What will volunteers be doing at the event?
While the exact tasks at hand vary through the year, our projects focus on improving the open spaces, forests, and parks in our local cities. Healthy ecosystems and thriving wetlands are vital to our community because they absorb and naturally filter rain water, produce clean oxygen, provide living spaces for wildlife, and create a place for people to connect with the outdoors.
