Volunteer Opportunity: I Support the Girls - New Orleans
Are you passionate about empowering women and folx in your community? Join us as an Affiliate Director at I Support the Girls (ISTG) in NOLA!
Through an international network of Affiliates, I Support the Girls (ISTG) collects and distributes essential items, including bras, underwear, and menstrual hygiene products, allowing women and folx experiencing homelessness, impoverishment, or distress to stand tall with dignity.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Oversee and lead the ISTG affiliate program in New Orleans, ensuring the effective distribution of essential items to nonprofit organizations serving the community.
- Community Engagement: Build and nurture relationships with local organizations, businesses, and volunteers to expand ISTG's impact.
- Logistics Management: Coordinate donation drives, manage inventory, and facilitate distributions in alignment with ISTG guidelines.
- Advocacy: Act as a local ambassador, raising awareness about period poverty and advocating for dignity and equity.
- Commitment to ISTG's mission and values.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate and motivate a team of volunteers.
- Local knowledge and connections within the New Orleans community.
- Make a direct impact on the lives of women and folx in need.
- Gain leadership experience in a dynamic and supportive organization.
