Help Keep Local History Alive - Volunteer at Historic Rock Mill
Perched above a stunning sandstone gorge, Rock Mill has stood as a symbol of Fairfield County’s heritage since 1799. Once a vital part of the community, it's now a living piece of history - and we need passionate volunteers like you to help keep it vibrant for generations to come.
As one of our volunteers says:
"I talk with people and make history come alive in some small way for them."
Whether you’re a lifelong history buff or simply curious about the past, there’s a place for you at Rock Mill.
What Volunteers Do:
Volunteer Details:
No experience needed.
All you need is a welcoming attitude, a willingness to learn, and an interest in local history. We provide all the training you'll need.
Please note: Volunteer work is often outdoors and may involve uneven terrain, exposure to weather and insects, and proximity to working mill equipment.
All Fairfield County Park District volunteers must pass a background check before beginning service.
