Share Your Time, Bring Comfort: Hospice Companionship Volunteers Needed
Descripción
Descripción
At Gentiva Hospice, we believe that no one should feel alone during life’s most meaningful moments. Our companionship volunteers offer something truly special, the gift of presence, kindness, and human connection.
We are looking for compassionate individuals in the Kyle community who feel called to sit with patients, listen to their stories, and simply be there. Sometimes it’s sharing a conversation, holding a hand, reading aloud, or just offering a peaceful presence. These small acts can bring immense comfort and dignity to someone’s day.
What You’ll Do
As a companionship volunteer, you may:
- Visit patients in their homes or care facilities
- Offer conversation, listening, and emotional support
- Read, play music, or share quiet moments together
- Provide a comforting presence for those who may not have family nearby
No medical or caregiving experience is required, just a caring heart and a willingness to be present!
Why This Matters
Your time can ease loneliness, bring peace, and remind someone they are not alone. Many volunteers also find this work to be deeply meaningful and fulfilling.
What We’re Looking For
- Kind, compassionate, and dependable individuals
- Comfortable sitting with others and offering emotional support
- Respect for different life stories, beliefs, and backgrounds
- Willingness to complete training and a background check
- Must be 18 years or older
Join Us
If you feel drawn to make a difference in a quiet but powerful way, we would love to connect with you.
