Global Paint for Charity (GPC) is seeking a visionary, systems-oriented, and mission-driven leader to serve as our next Director of Strategic Initiatives. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the future of one of the world’s leading circular economy and environmental social enterprises while influencing sustainability, workforce development, public policy, and community revitalization efforts at a national and global scale.
Since 2010, Global Paint for Charity has recovered and redistributed more than 5 million gallons of surplus paint, diverting millions of pounds of waste from landfills and waterways while supporting underserved communities in 44 countries. Through strategic partnerships with municipalities, Fortune 500 companies, universities, artists, nonprofits, and international organizations, GPC transforms environmental waste into community impact, restoring homes, schools, public spaces, and critical infrastructure while creating pathways for economic mobility and environmental stewardship.
As GPC enters a new phase of growth, we are searching for a highly capable strategic leader who can help scale the organization’s impact, partnerships, infrastructure, and innovation ecosystem. This role is designed for an individual who can think institutionally, operate cross-functionally, and execute transformational initiatives with excellence.
The Director of Strategic Initiatives will work directly with the President & CEO, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors to drive high-priority organizational initiatives related to strategic growth, operational transformation, sustainability innovation, public-private partnerships, policy development, technology integration, and global expansion. This leader will serve as a strategic architect responsible for translating vision into measurable execution across multiple departments and external stakeholder groups.
The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and relationship-oriented professional with exceptional leadership, project management, and communication skills. Candidates should possess the ability to navigate complexity, build coalitions, manage competing priorities, and develop scalable systems that strengthen organizational capacity and long-term sustainability. This role requires someone comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels while engaging effectively with corporate executives, foundations, universities, elected officials, government agencies, and community leaders.
Key responsibilities include leading strategic planning initiatives, supporting organizational growth strategies, developing institutional partnerships, identifying and pursuing funding opportunities, managing high-impact cross-functional projects, supporting executive communications and board-level presentations, advancing innovation and technology initiatives, and helping shape long-term organizational priorities. The Director will also support efforts related to environmental sustainability, circular economy systems, ESG initiatives, workforce development, community resilience, and social impact measurement.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong background in strategic planning, organizational development, management consulting, public policy, nonprofit leadership, sustainability, innovation, operations, or related fields. Experience working within complex institutions or mission-driven organizations is strongly preferred. Exceptional writing, presentation, analytical, and stakeholder engagement capabilities are essential. Familiarity with grant-funded initiatives, strategic partnerships, board governance, change management, and institutional fundraising is highly valued.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, Sustainability, Organizational Leadership, Public Administration, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Economics, Urban Planning, International Development, or a related discipline. Candidates with experience supporting executive leadership, advising senior stakeholders, or leading enterprise-level strategic initiatives are strongly encouraged to apply.
At Global Paint for Charity, we believe sustainability is not only an environmental issue but also an economic and human development opportunity. We are building a global movement that connects circular economy innovation with dignity, equity, and community transformation. Joining GPC means becoming part of a mission-driven team committed to reimagining waste systems, empowering communities, and developing scalable models that can influence industries and institutions worldwide.
