Tutor for expat learners / TEFL Assistant

At Global Shore Opportunities, our vision is to transform Guatemala through Christ-centered education. Christ-centered education teaches students how to truly live—knowing that God loves them and has a purpose for their lives. We believe this foundation of love will transform our students, breaking generational cycles of poverty and brokenness and positively impacting their families, communities, and nation. Since 2006, we have been working to establish schools where we can carry out this mission. We now have over 300 students across Guatemala! Every year, we seek to hire English teachers and assistants for our primary and secondary students for a commitment of 10 months at a time (January - October). Our current need is for a tutor for our young expat learners (this position also serves as the TEFL Assistant).

TEFL Department Assistant & Tutor for expat learners:

While working within the TEFL department as a TEFL Department Assistant, this position also provides tutoring for bilingual children of our missionary staff within the regular school schedule. A commitment throughout the school year is required to provide continuity to the tutoring program. No teaching certification is required. All TEFL staff fundraise for their work with Global Shore Opportunities. The estimated fundraising total for a year’s ministry is $18,200 (CAD). Interested?
