This volunteer role focuses on our at-home patients whose caregivers—often family members or close friends—provide care every day. As you can imagine, caregiving can be both rewarding and exhausting, and even the most devoted caregivers need time to rest and recharge.
That’s where our Relief Sitters come in. By spending time with the patient, you give the caregiver a chance to take a break—whether that’s going to an appointment, catching a movie, meeting a friend, reading a book, or simply enjoying a peaceful moment to themselves. Your presence offers comfort, companionship, and peace of mind.
Volunteers do not provide any hands-on care, and caregivers are made aware of this before visits. I’ll make sure all the details are in place before you’re scheduled for a relief-sitting visit.
